A fourth generation lawyer born and raised in Vancouver, John is a partner at Jarvis McGee Rice LLP. His law practice is restricted to plaintiff’s personal injury litigation. John has extensive litigation experience representing injured victims and their families for all types of trauma including whiplash, soft tissue injuries and chronic pain, post-traumatic headaches, dental and jaw injuries, emotional and psychological trauma, orthopedic and spinal cord injuries, and mild to severe traumatic brain injuries. John’s law practice also includes fatality and family compensation actions and wrongful denial of insurance coverage claims.
Being in the courtroom and advocating on behalf of clients to judges or juries is what John loves to do. He likes to accept tough cases and he never stops fighting for his clients until they obtain justice and fair but full compensation for their harms and losses. He has litigated in the British Columbia Provincial Court, Supreme Court and Court of Appeal, as well as the BC Labor Relations Board, Human Rights Tribunal, Employment Standards Tribunal, and the Workers Compensation Appeal Tribunal. John has been counsel on a number of precedent setting and ground-breaking cases in BC.
John is proud to sit on the Board of Governors of the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia (“TLABC”). John is an active member on a number of TLABC committees and he has presented and published papers at TLABC education seminars for lawyers. The TLABC plays a critical role in holding powerful insurance companies like ICBC to account in British Columbia by shining a light on their conduct and educating law makers and the public about right and wrong in our systems of law.
